Asian Games: Malaysian Men Set Up Final Against Pakistan

GUANGZHOU, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Malaysia outclassed Hong Kong 2-0 to set up an exciting men's team squash final against Pakistan Thursday.

In today's semifinal matches, Mohamad Nafiizwan Mohamad Adnan endured a grueling five-set match against Lau Siu Wai before winning 9-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-2 and 11-6, in an hour and eight minutes.

Men's individual gold medallist Mohd Azlan Iskandar clinched the winning point with an easy 11-4, 11-5, 11-4 win over Lee Ho Yin.

"It was never an easy match, even though it was the second time I was meeting him. We know each other very well, so it was a very tough match," said Mohd Azlan.

Malaysia will now face Pakistan who beat India 2-0.

Farhan Mehboob got Pakistan off to a good start when he beat Siddhart Nimesh Suchde 16-14, 10-12, 11-9 and 11-5 for the first point while Aamir Atlas Khan defeated Saurav Ghosal 15-13, 5-11, 11-5 and 11-6, for the winning point.
