GUANGZHOU, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- Artistic gymnast Tracie Ang wants to put in a strong performance in her debut at Guangzhou Asian Games (Nov 12-27).
"Since Malaysia is not sending a gymnastic team here, it is up to me to put in a good showing," the 17 year-old lass told Bernama here Thursday.
Tracie who will compete in all individual apparatus events hopes to make the final of the balance beam, her favourite event.
"My best performance this year is seventh placing in the balance beam at World Gymnastic Championship in Belgium in September."
The Bukit Jalil Sports School student said that she did not feel pressured despite the stiff competition awaiting her.
"Gymnasts from host China, Japan and South Korea will definitely be the ones to beat," said Tracie who is trained by Uzbek Mikhail Gutsalyuk.
Tracie came in ninth among 24 contestants in the overall individual event at New Delhi Commonwealth Games in Oct.
